The Other Side of the Gaza Crisis: Corruption, Complicity, and Silence
There have been about 19 months of war in Gaza now, and it's not really a war — it is more like shooting fish in a barrel. If you criticize Israel, they say you are a Hamas supporter or anti-Semitic. But do you know who was really a Hamas supporter? The Israeli government and Mr. Netanyahu's Likud Party supported the creation of Hamas in 1987, in order to create a division amongst the Palestinian people who were supporting the PLO (the Palestinian Liberation Organization), which Israel wanted to weaken. And in the past 4 or 5 years, Mr. Netanyahu has been asking Qatar to give money to Hamas. (1)
Mr. Netanyahu has long been a friend of Hamas because it allows him to push his agenda of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians out of their lands completely while annexing Gaza and the West Bank.
Many Western countries have been supporting this genocide in Gaza by sending arms to Israel to allow them to continue the mass slaughter of Palestinian civilians. And since March 3, there has been virtually no food going into Gaza; they are starving people to death under the cover of 'we are fighting Hamas'. The Western countries have no moral ground to stand on when they support the Israeli ongoing massacre of defenseless people.
But another part of the story is that many Middle Eastern countries — the Muslim and Arab countries — also play a role. The role of these corrupt Arab and Muslim rulers in support of Israel. Without their collaboration with Israel, this genocide would not have been possible. For example, look at oil ... over the past 19 months of genocide, Azerbaijan, a Muslim country, has been sending oil through Turkey, another Muslim nation that supposedly opposes Israel, and then Mr. Erdogan's son (Mr. Erdogan is the president of Turkey) owns the oil tankers that are transporting the oil to Israel. (2) And these things are not getting talked about in the West, not even by the demonstrators protesting the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Why not?
Another example is when the Houthis, who are operating out of Yemen, attacked ships going through the Red Sea with supplies for Israel. When those attacks made it dangerous and expensive for ships to use the Red Sea to reach Israel, the ships docked in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain instead, put the supplies on trucks, and shipped them through Saudi Arabia and Jordan ... to Israel. (3)
None of these countries are making any serious attempt to alleviate the starvation of the Palestinian civilians in Gaza, but oil and supplies for Israel continue to flow. And nobody is talking about this. When Israel bombed the Iranian embassy in Damascus (in 2024), and then Iran responded by firing missiles at Israel, the Jordanian and Saudi Arabian air forces launched planes to shoot down the Iranian missiles. They were defending Israel. I am not advocating anyone to attack Israel or promoting wars and conflict. The Israeli people have been deceived by Zionist propaganda. We need to have peace among people and be able to live together and believe in peaceful coexistence. Jews, Christians, and Muslims have lived together peacefully in the Middle East for a long time, until the Western colonizers showed up and began creating divisions among people in order to plunder the resources of the Middle Eastern nations — and of course especially the oil. They are doing the same thing in Africa and in South and Central America ... everywhere. We know who is causing all these wars and profiting from them. But we should also be talking about the corrupt Arab and Muslim rulers who are enabling this genocide in Gaza to continue.
