ROGERS INTERNET: They lied to me, put a dangerous product in my home, made me sick, and then made me pay extra.

Rogers bought Shaw a couple of years ago. I was getting my internet and cable TV from Shaw at the time, so a few months later Rogers phoned me up and told me they wanted to exchange the Shaw modem and etc. that were in my condo and put in their own Rogers equipment.
No problem I said, but I told them on the phone that I wanted wired equipment in my place, not wireless. No problem they said, and they sent a guy down to do the work. I was home when he came by – a very nice and friendly guy. And I told him again that I didn't want wireless stuff in my house, so I wanted to make sure he was putting in wired equipment. No problem he said, and he showed me exactly what he was doing and assured me it was wired and not wireless. Great, said I, and I was happy with the new equipment.
A few months later, I think it was around March of 2024, I got quite ill for a few days. This wasn't a surprise as I have had migraine headaches my whole life and these days they usually put me down for 2 or 3 days, maybe twice a year. But ... after this sickness in March of 2024, I never got better. Which was very surprising. I was working half-time at the time, and I'd come home after work and just be exhausted for the rest of the day. I never felt 'really good'. Even doing the laundry became a ... well I'll do it tomorrow kind of thing because I didn't feel up to exerting that amount of energy. And then I started getting headaches and I had a headache every morning for a month when I woke up. The headache would go away after an hour or so, but none of this was pleasant, and I began to think ... well I'm getting older and maybe this is how I'm going to feel ...?? It's 'normal' for my health to drop off.
I have a cheap meter that reads wireless radiation levels. I thought my place was 'a bit high', but I live in a condo building and I thought that even though I don't have wireless, it's coming into my place from all my neighbors' homes. But I have a friend who has a professional-level meter, and I asked him to come by with it one day. And he did. And the results were shocking. First, I found out that my place did NOT have a wired system, the liars at Rogers had put in a wireless system. And it was cranked right up; much higher than it had to be to provide my little condo with internet and TV. Right at the equipment they had put in, which was right next to where I sat when I was working on my computer, the radiation readings were literally 'off the charts'... extremely high. And where I slept was also very high.
So I immediately unplugged the equipment the liars at Rogers had put in. I now had no internet, no phone, and no TV ... but the next day I woke up without a headache for the first time in a month. It then took me a few weeks to find a company that would put in a system that could be fully wired for my internet, and I kept the Rogers stuff unplugged for that whole time. And I slowly began to feel better, but it took me a couple of months to regain my previous good health. And I'm happy I got it back because for a while I wasn't sure I would recover from what Rogers had done to me.
After I got the new system in, I phoned Rogers to cancel my contract. They told me there was a three-month penalty for early cancellation since I had a two-year contract with them. I told them the reason I was canceling was that they had lied to me, and I NEVER would have signed a contract with them if they had told me the truth. We had a fairly long conversation but they finally agreed to cancel without the 3-month penalty. But of course they were lying again and they did charge me, and when I didn't pay I started to get phone calls from a collection agency. I never would have paid them, except the contract was in the name of the person who owned the condo I was renting, and I didn't want them to have any blemishes on their credit records, so in the end I had to pay Rogers exactly what they wanted.
So I think Rogers is an evil corporation. They knew exactly what they were doing, and they know full well that wireless radiation is dangerous, especially at the levels I was being exposed to. And a lot of other people are also being exposed to dangerous levels of wireless radiation and Rogers doesn't care about any of that for one second. If people get sick, Rogers Don’t Care.
That is the level of lying and betrayal that goes on every day in Canada. And our federal government 100% lets them get away with this kind of thing. Because the federal government works for big business; our governments care for our health just as little as Rogers does. And if Rogers wants to lie to Canadians about what they are putting in our homes; well the federal government has no problem with that either. And if I want to complain, the government has set up a regulatory agency I can complain to. I don't remember its name right now, but the members of this complaint agency are the corporations themselves, including of course Rogers.
Our food supply is the same, filled with chemicals and poisons that the food companies tell us are safe. But just like Rogers, they are lying to us, and just like Rogers they don't care if we get sick. And if we want to complain, you can be very sure that our provincial and federal governments will not be interested for one second in what we have to say. Which is a big reason why half of us Canadians will get cancer at some point in our lives. That's how Canada is run. And it's run for big business and corporate profit. And we Canadians are pretty much irrelevant. And personally I'm getting very tired of all of it. I hope others feel the same way; and I hope that someday soon we can fix our country up.
